best opinion on this set-up
looking to buy an alienware M17x laptop, just wondering if this is a good setup and if i should get the 16GB ram on it for better performance or not to worry about it

Hello Zohan, I'll say that configuration is great as it is. I don't think you'll need more than 8GB for gaming, and 1600MHz is a fast frequency already.
If you are going to do something more resource consuming, like 3D modeling or so; then yes upgrade the RAM.

In that case I'll drop the RAM and aim to a GPU upgrade. Nowadays games tend to consume a lot more GPU rather than CPU. So, more GPU FTW

which video card should i get?
2GB GDDR5 Nvidia GeForce GTX 660M(is what ive got added at the moment)
2GB GDDR5 AMD Radeon HD 7970M
2GB GDDR5 Nvidia GeForce GTX 675M

In my personal opinion, I'll go with the 7970M. But that is just me, those card will perform excellent in any game.
