Sorry for the lengthy post. After Windows installed an update this morning, I now get this error upon boot up.

Appreciate any help.

I see two options, roll back to a restore point before the update and try it again or removing and reinstall the Command Center to see if it corrects the issue.

I had a similar problem when Windows 8 did an update.  I was able to restore the Alien Ware thermal control by going to control panel, programs and features, clicking on command center, and chose repair instead of uninstall, rebooted the system, and everything worked the way it should.

What is the exact model of your AW computer?

Have you tried the "Power Dissipation Fix"?

Hi Chris,

I uninstalled and reinstalled the command center and no more error message.

I won't ask why but I'm glad it's gone.

The good news is that the repair solution works....

The bad news is that anything Microsoft does to you machine (like new development programs like VS 2013) will crash it again & again and again.

Here we have the big guy bullying the little guy. But the little guy sells a LOT of Windows on on their machines so, As I used to do when I was in PC manufacturing , a call from a DELL  CTO to Microsoft is in order and screaming at them WORKS.

In the meantime , the Engineers at  Alienware need to protect the installation of Command Center  or investigate why in hell Microsoft is thrashing their program. A program diagnosing   the Command center installation is in order . Microsoft eventually will help but the Manyfacturer has to take the initiave.

Well - ANOTHER MS  Cluster F ........  After new versions of .NET framework (install through Visual Studio 2013)  Alienware Control only works in compatibility mode.MS has just given up in trying to serve the customer . There is NOT one thing (office 2013 is a mess) where they will not shove something down your throat that will wreck havoc with your system.

So if your Alienware Control Program goes belly up, save your time and just set it to run in compatibility mode . I've reported to Alienware this latest of MS Big Brother  bullying.

IIRC, newer versions of .Net get installed along-side old versions ... they don't replace. That way .net Apps use the same version they always have.

Runtime Apps just need the Frameworks (not SDKs).

I'm running CC v2.8.9.0 on Win7-64. Pretty sure it uses .Net4.0 .
