Alienware Aurora R1 motherboard search
I got an Alienware Aurora R1 from a client who was going to toss it, since his son has gone off to university. Unfortunately I could not get any background on its current condition.
So it came without hard drives or memory. I was able to recover 6 2 gb memory boards, and place a spare sata drive in it before attempting to boot it.
When it powers up I get 3 beeps, and a pause and 3 beeps again. It continues to cycle in this pattern. No video at all on any of the two dual monitor video cards.
My basic research indicates the beep code of 3 beeps means it needs a new motherboard.
I just want to restore this computer and donate it to some kids. Cost is not too much of a factor.
Any help would be appreciated.

2. Alienware Desktop - General Hardware Troubleshooting
for those who don't know the beep code table:
Laptops
1 Possible Motherboard (covers BIOS corruption or ROM error)
2 No RAM detected
3 Possible Motherboard Chipset
4 RAM failure (other)
5 CMOS Battery
6 Video card/chip
7 CPU
8 LCD
Desktops
1 Possible Motherboard (covers BIOS corruption or ROM error)
2 No RAM detected
3 Possible Motherboard Chipset
4 RAM failure (other)
5 Real Time Clock (RTC)
6 Video card/chip
7 CPU
R1 Motherboards by Par#
4VWF2 (part# circled)
H869M
92JYY
may or may not be a part#; it does appear to be a factory sticker with barcode referencing as such
Always confirm from your seller that they do in fact have an Intel x58 socket 1366 motherboard capable of running an I7 9xx cpu, since some of these used/eBay items appear to be going by the R2 designation (which means P55 skt 1156 motherboard i7 8xx etc). Find your part#, but the 1st two boards are for the R1, either will work. Test your CMOS coin-cell battery for 2.5v - 3v, try one memory stick at a time, follow the troubleshooting guide, good luck & Cheers.

Cass-Ole, thank you for the quick reply. I have swapped the battery mentioned. But the above information is very helpful if I can find a board anywhere. Ive plenty of R2..R3....boards, but none R1 at all. If anyone knows of a source please advise. BTW its looks most like the 4VWF2 board.
