Alienware Aurora R4 Samsung 950 NVME m2 pcie adapter
Has anyone installed an m2 nvme SSD drive in an Aurora R4 via a m2 to pcie adapter and configured it to boot from it?
Hoping it is possible.
Thanks

Hi,
This is not supported, we haven't test it but it will probably not work since the motherboard doesn't have a lane assigned to it. So it might recognize it but you wont be able to boot from it.

Too bad you are wrong. The Samsung 950 has an NVME controller and boots fine on a Lycom M2 to PCIE Adapter. Cloned my drive, restarted, disconnected the old drive, and the new drive is working great!
No special customization or settings or bios update or otherwise...
