15 R4, AlienFX not detected, after AWCC 5.2.29 update

Hey guys. A few days ago, the AWCC of my software received an update then for some reason, I couldn't get into the FX tab so I decided to uninstall (then reinstall) AWCC by following the instructions in the Support page. Problem is, it's been like that ever since and now, I can't change (the lights defaulted to the blue lights it came with the laptop) or even turn off the lights of my laptop. Any kind of help is appreciated.

The product is Alienware 15 R4.

Same issue eher e- i had to roll back to a previous back up done when the AWCC was updated (luckily) using system restore to get the FX back working- uninstalling and re installing the previous AWCC build did not work and gave errors saying no FX compatible device found.

is there anyway to stop the auto downloads of the new version - every time i open AWCC it downloads the new CC ! really annoying - why hasn't dell fixed this yet?
