I have the same problem where pressing e becomes gye91 and u becomes ju. Is it a hardware related problem or software? What can I do if my guarantee expired?

Once the purchased warranty has expired, all you can do is purchase a replacement keyboard. Then replace it yourself or pay a local technician to do the work. Or use the Dell Expired Warranty Service offering to setup a Return to Depot repair. Dell-Admin
