M14x R2, motherboard
So it's been 3 years since this laptop died (just a few months after the warranty.) There are quite a few used motherboards now listed online floating around $200 with no warranty. There's also the option to fix the current shorted motherboard locally for $150 that comes with a 90 day warranty. Which option would you guys take?

"Fixes" only lasts for while, that's why they give 90 days warranty, the motherboard will not last long and you will need to bring it back each time until it dies completely. Better off buy used one that works! Still 90 days is pretty decent, in my country they give 30 days max

I say get a new one and that’s final. I’m also going to mark this as a solution since it’s the better option.

Replying to a 3 year old post and the marking it as the solution???????????/
It is your opinion and may or may not be the solution.
But it is not your place to make the decision if it is the solution.
Best regards,

Fixed it @U2CAMEB4ME. Won't be doing that again.
