15 R3, GTX 1070 failure, options?

My 2017 Alienware R3 6700HQ GTX 1070 has died on me, the GPU I can only imagine has either burnt out or would seem to have power issues as it was never used heavily anyway. I have spoken with Dell over the phone who kindly done a spare parts stock check for a matching MB but have said there are none in my region and given me the part number to source my own one. I'm rather gobsmacked that the machine is less than 3 years old yet they do not have sufficient stock to supply parts for them after only a short few years. Lets be honest, where am I likely to get a genuine MB from as right now the laptop is practically useless to me, other than selling it for spare parts what are my options?
