Laptop Warranty

Hello. My friend's father is having issues with his computer but doesn't have the money to get it fixed right now. He's thinking about getting a year warranty so dell can come out and just fix whatever the issue is since he's disabled. If he buys the warranty now with having the issues he's having, will the warranty still work since the problems started recently, before he'd buy the warranty? He's not even sure what the issues are and he doesn't know what else to do because he really does not have the money right now. Thanks

He cannot buy a hardware warranty after the original one expired. He can pay for Out of Warranty Service--which is expensive and does not include home visits-- but laptops are rarely fixed. If under warranty they are replaced if a major part has failed. Have him post his problems here in the forum and a user will try to help. It might be a simple fix such as a hard drive replacement or reinstalling Windows. Software problems are not covered under warranty.

Hi

I'm afraid you won't be able to extend you warranty when original one expired already.
