AVE 2TB installation
Have someone installed an AVE 2TB??? I am working on that right now, but the vmdk creates a server with just 4GB RAM, should I increase the RAM manually???
Cause I did and then I was not able to start the virtual machine
thanks for your comments

1) Which exact version of VMware are you using?
2) How much memory is on the Host server?
3) What kind of processor(s) are on the Host server?
4) When you say you can't start the virtual machine, what exactly is happening? 5) What do you see and what (if any) error messages appear?

1) I was actually asking for the version of VMware, not the version of Avamar. Are you using ESX or some other VMware version? Which version exactly?
5) When you say it says there is no space left can you be more specific? Is it complaining of lack of RAM? Are you using resource pools?
If you can provide screenshots of the message(s) it would really help.
Just a note though... Avamar Virtual Edition isn't intended to be a customer installable product. EMC Professional Services or the Delivery Team should always be involved as they can verify whether the VMware host(s) and the storage subsystems are able to to run the software reliably.
Are you installing this for a production environment?

2) How much memory is on the Host server? 16GB RAM
3) What kind of processor(s) are on the Host server? Xeon quad core
4) When you say you can't start the virtual machine, what exactly is happening?
well i did import the ave, then the virtual machine reserve 4GB RAM... I did increase it to 16GB then I can start virtual machine cause it says there is no space left
5) What do you see and what (if any) error messages appear? the error is that there is no space left I did set a lun with 70 GB for the OS, then I did show to the ave 2 metaluns with 1.6 TB each 6 partitios of 250GB in each metalun for ave
The documentation never says i have to increase the RAM for the ave, but I know it has to be 16GB RAM for the AvE
is it clear??

the problem was that the storage where the OS was gonna reside it had just 70GB of space, when you import the vmdk of avamar it takes 60GB but then you need to increase the RAM manually to 16GB and then you need extra space in the storage so I think the documentation of AVE is not updated for the 2TB server, they say you need only 60GB of space for the OS when you really need 60Gb + 16 for the RAM
