Avamar DD snmp question
I was hoping someone could clear something up in regards to the DD snmp config when integrating with Avamar. I've read in some places that the community string must be read/write and then other places it only needs to be read only, was wondering which was correct or if it was a "depends" question. Also, do you have to have a trap-host configured for the Avamar server (this is AVE)?

I can only find the information that a RO community is sufficient:
The SNMP Community String box lists the community string Avamar uses for readonly
access to the Data Domain system.
Regarding the trap host: if you want to push some informations when certain events raise you've to configure a trap host.
A trap host is a SNMP management host, for example Nagios/Icinga/...
