Avamar Snapup Retention Type
Is there a way via the schedule, policy, or retention policies to have a snap up, at the time of backup, set the retention type to Not Tagged. I have been manually changing the retention type after the snap up is complete by right-clicking on the snapup and then picking Change Retention type.
I need to have it tagged this way at the time of the backup. The issue is that we have a secondary offsite Avamar that we do replication to . This server happens to be close to the top of the client list and causes it to hang up due to the size. We do not need this particular snapup to replicate.
Any help would be appreciated.

It seems there is no another way to change retention type except you mentioned. But as for your question, there is another way may resolve your problem.
When you configure the replication you could use "Selective"
