Avamar Virtual Edition (AVE) Disaster Recovery
Hello Everyone,
For environments contains AVE integrated with Data Domain, what is the possible disaster recovery scenarios?
i.e. if AVE virtual machine is totally lost, can it be rebuilt from DD?

The DR protection options for single node systems (including AVE) are Avamar / DD integrated replication or Avamar checkpoint backups. You only need one or the other.
For Avamar / DD replication, a second AVE system is required to act as the replication target.
Checkpoint backups can be enabled through the Avamar Administrator GUI and will protect the Avamar metadata in case the AVE is lost.
In the event of a disaster, a replicate restore or a checkpoint restore would require a professional services engagement.
