Avamar replication over slow links

Hello,

I have a situation where I need to to replicate a 1,2 TB file server over a 10 Mb/s link.

This would take 11 days assuming 100% bandwitdh utilization and 24/7 replication windows, and maybe 30 days more realistically.

Some of those servers are VMWare,  other windows agents.

Assuming partial replications expires after 7 days, how do I go about transferring this data without restarting the process endlessly?

Thanks!

Hello,

You can setup overtime on the Avamar client instance under /MC_SYSTEM to "Always allow overtime" so you can run the replication until is done.

Could you clarify whether it's 1.2 TB of data for a single backup, 1.2 TB of data for the client, or 1.2TB of data for the whole Avamar system you're trying to replicate from?

Also, is this pure Avamar or Avamar / DD integration? (Avamar / DD does not support partials).

Hello Ian,

It is 1.2 TB for the entire FS of this client in that specific case.

The replication type is pure Avamar.

Thank you,
