Avamar with Netapp and Citrix VDI
Hi,
We have a customer who wants to migrate his desktop / laptop users to VDI environment using Thin Client. He has a centralized NetApp storage. The user migration would be around 30000 users where customer wants to take backup of all his users' data on Avamar and then migrate those users.
After migration, he wants the backup data to be copied / moved to the NetApp storage so that his migrated users can access their data through browser or some dump terminal.
Is there any way we can move that backed up data from Avamar Grid to the NetApp storage ?

You could back up the data from the desktops and laptops, then restore it to a share from the NetApp mounted to a staging server but if you're going to do that, it seems like it would be faster and easier to skip the intermediate step and just copy the data directly to the share.
It's not possible to restore regular filesystem backups directly to the filer itself.
