Can Avamar backup a Oracle VM the same way as it can for VMWARE

We have VMware and OVM here. VMWARE was nice and easy to setup and they have now asked if OVM can be setup like that. Can you backup the OVM images and restore the server or restore a file without having to put a client on each system. It would be great so we do not have a ton of systems to upgrade when I want to upgrade the grid.
