Changing IP address of a multinode Avamar
Hi
I am going change the IP addresses on a multinode server, just the IP address not the name.
I have the Document "Changing the name and IP Addressing og Avamar Servers"
I there anyone that has done this and has experience with it?
Are there any pitfalls?
The document does do discuss if you need to go onto each node and change the address there.
Best regards Otto

If you follow the instructions carefully and don't skip any steps, you should be fine. Most issues with changing the IP of a system are caused by skipping steps in my experience.

Hi Ian
I meant to write Proffesional services not support.
OK that is good to know for future reference. I was a bit unsure on the Datadomain or how to change the Ip for that in the Avamar.
Best regards Otto

Performing an IP change would require a professional services engagement. Support does not perform IP changes (though they can assist if something goes wrong during the IP change). Changing the IP address of the Avamar server should not cause any issues with the DataDomain integration since the Avamar communicates with the DataDomain rather than the other way around.

Hi Ian
thanks for a prompt answer. I was also unsure of relationship with the Datadomain.
We decided to have it done by EMC Avamar product support as this is a fairly critical backup enviroment.
Best regards Otto
