Client migration between Avamar 7.2 and 7.4

Hi ,

We have 2 environments ,one outdated ESOL 7.2 Gen4 that will be decomissioned and a new Avamar Rain running now 7.4.

We want to move some of the clients, only production ones, to the supported Avamar, but seems that we dont have enought capacity to move all the metadata, so an expansion has been requested.

My question is :

If i move a client as if it was a New client on the new Avamar , Will I be able to move all historical data from the old 7.2 later?

My two options are:

-Create the clients as new, start doing backups restore on the old on the mean time, migrate the data once there is capacity.

-Migrate clients with all existing data until the capacity of 7.4 reaches 90%

So only metadata will be kept on the Avamar, backups are already in Data Domain.
