How long does VMotion from Data Domain take?
Can anyone with experience using the "instant access" feature of Avamar VM image backups with Data Domain tell me how long (roughly) it takes to VMotion a 120 GB VM off the Data Domain?

In my experience its going to very significantly and dependent on what type of data is on the VM and what Data Domain model your using. The new Data Domains with flash cache will be significantly faster than old ones without it.

Thanks. I'm trying to get a rough idea of how long it might take were we to implement VM image backups in our environment. Are we talking a couple of hours, 20 minutes, 5 minutes, 30 seconds? Say for a 120 GB VM with 60GB OS data and a 40 GB SQL database. We have a DD2500 and VNX2 (5400).
