How old can a client be to run under 7.1?
I have three servers that run Windows 2000 and I can't install the 7.1 or 6.1 clients. How old can I go that will still work with Avamar 7.1? We need backups for now until the old servers are replaced. They are physical servers so can't go VM.

Avamar 7.1 server officially supports 7.1, 7.0 and 6.1 client versions, and unfortunately Windows 2000 support is EOL since it was supported in Avamar 4.1 client so if you want to get support please contact your account team and get an RPQ submitted and approved to be able to back up those 3 servers.

Thanks Arturo and Ian. I should be able to find a solution with those choices.

Alternatively, you could create shares for the data you need to back up and map them from a supported client to back them up. I don't think backing up CIFS shares is formally supported but I know there are customers using this strategy to back up their data from unsupported operating systems.
