Is it normal for the Hyper-v VSS backup to always leave a backup checkpoint after the completion of the backup?

The Avamar version is 7.3.0-233, the Hyper-V Server is 2012R2 and the Avamar Client is 7.3.101-125.

The checkpoint has a "Backup" label and can only be deleted through a Powershell script and not from the Hyper-V Manager.

With every new backup, the size of the avhdx files is shrinked to some MB.
