Integrate Avamar with Windows Active Directory by user account not computer account

It sounds like you're looking to make backups "user-centric" in Avamar. That is, User A backs up his data on Computer A, then moves to Computer B and wish to restore his data. This might be possible with LDAP integration, as Pawan indicates above. You could create an LDAP group with all users having Restore role. The user would then be able to click on the Avamar client on the Windows Taskbar, then restore files from Avamar.
You should test this extensively, since you'd be give users the ability to not only overwrite all the data on the local computer, but possibly to peruse other computer's/user's backups.
I don't recommend this approach, without a lot of testing.

Avamar supports its own internal authentication system (avs), as well as several external authentication systems (OpenLDAP, Windows Active Directory, NIS, and SMB).
Please refer to Avamar 7.1 Administration Guide for configuration.
