Replicating from the /REPLICATE domain

Hi Guys,

I've been told this isn't supported, but there must be some way of doing it. I'm trying to replicate data from the /REPLICATE domain, back to the source server. Long story as to why i replicated one way, and now need to replicate back, so i won't bother getting into it. Just want to know if there's a way.

I tried to use the replicate binary on the utility node of the source grid, and got the following.

ERROR: Source path cannot contain /REPLICATE for replicate!

Help anyone.

I would recommend working with support if you need to run a replicate restore.

Since replication never deletes anything (only adds or moves), there are some potential pitfalls involved in running a replicate restore that are not necessarily obvious. Deleted clients may be resurrected in the GSAN's user accounting system but not in the Administrator Server, leading to a client ID mismatch, for example. Down the road, this could lead to subtle issues such as replication failing to replicate a client that has the same name as a client that was deleted, then "resurrected" by the replicate restore.
