KB 304912Can third party software, additional crons or custom changes be applied to an Avamar server?
If you're seeing regular issues with the connection to vCenter I would suggest opening an SR to discuss with Support to try to diagnose the root cause and discuss mitigation / monitoring options.Perhaps an enhancement request would be appropriate, but they can guide depending on your particular case.
Thanks for your answers. Is there anyway to automate day to day manual repeated tasks by using EMC approved Tool/software? Is Avamar REST API will be helpful on this? Overall, I want to move towards automation of some tasks, like restart of "Timed Out - Start" and "Timed Out - End" once it gets failed.
Coming from a Support perspective, automating the restart of an automated task which happened to fail doesn't sound like the best approach.
Rather than repeatedly restarting a failed backup it's better to investigate, understand and fix the cause of the failure so that the next backup can complete successfully.
