VSS Issue
So this seems fairly simple, install Windows 2008 client, set up policy with Windows File System and Windows VSS plugins, make sure Create DR is checked.
When I run this policy against the machine, the VSS job hangs at intiliazing... any ideas as to why? Tried it as a standalone (VSS only) dataset and it succeeded for one machine - it fails for most others. Some, it completes with exceptions. What are the dependencies for this plugin?

Just noticed the one that succeeded - 5.0.105-169
The ones that are failing - 5.0.100-409. Going to try to update.

What version of Avamar?

Let us know how it goes. 5.0.100-409 is Avamar 5.0 with no service pack. In that version the system state backups for Windows 2008 using VSS never worked right.

Support for Windows 2008 R2 VSS express writers since avamar client 5.0.105-169, you could upgrade your avamar client
