When will Avamar client be compatible with Mac OSX 10.8 Mountain Lion

When will Avamar client be compatible with Mac OSX 10.8 Mountain Lion?

We are currently using 6.0.101-66

After one manual backup, automatic backups don't happen and client greys out.

Are there any newer versions?

Beta versions?

Thanks!

Hello,

There is a newer version available, Avamar client v6.1.100-402 but Mac 10.8 mountain lion is not supported even with this version.

Hi,

I have 6.0.101-66 on my 10.8, now 10.8.1 (upgraded from 10.6). Working fine without any problems on this and other OSX machines we are backing up.

Thanks Sandeep and Niko. I have not tried upgrading any computers to Mountain Lion. I have only tried it on one new mac.Maybe having it preinstalled helps.

Of could be some other difference of how we are set up here. For example we are not binding to LDAP or AD. If I get time, I'll experiment.

But hoping a supported version will be released soon.

Looking at the logs as Niko suggested, there were indications that it could not find it because it was looking for the wrong name. Our institute has a mix of ethernet with fixed IPs locked to hostnames, and DHCP IPs that are not retainable, for our wireless system. Also, we backup remotely through VPN, so when we set up computers for backup, if the computer is not using the fixed IP we have to manually edit it at the administrator.

Yesterday I installed v6.1.100-402, and made sure it used the fixed IP, and today it backed up automatically!!!!

Not sure if it was the fixed IP or the new client. I shall do more testing. Obviously we need this to work under most all network conditions.
