Does EMC have image-based Bare metal recovery solution, just like Veritas NBU and Falconstor? although more data are backup, i can restore use less steps and more important, since all data are backed up, i will not forget anything.

You need to install the 'AvamarBackupSystemState-windows-x86-5.0.100-xxx.msi' along with the normal client software in order to do bare metal restores.
Then option in the dataset must be enabled to run the backup.
This will intergrate HomeBase and create a HBE_profile.zip file in the \var directory on the client which is used to do the restore.
This is documented well in the Avamar Administration Guide.
At this time this option is only available for W2K3.
For W2K8, you must use 'Windows Server Backup'. The Tech Note (found on Powerlink)is: 'WINDOWS SERVER 2008 OFFLINE SYSTEM RECOVERY USING WINDOWS SERVER BACKUP WITH AVAMAR AVAMAR 5.0 TECHNICAL NOTE P/N 300-010-190 REV A01'
