AIX VIOS : Powerpath cant detect the new paths on one devices
Today we have added couple of more paths from two AIX VIOS server to an existing Clariion frame from which already 60 device were allocated. After connecting the cables, zoning and host registration, performed the following on the host:
1. emc_cfgmgr
2. powermt config
3, powermt save
Now all the devices except one on 4 path and one remained on 2 paths. The ODM database seems ok as all the devices are in available state. (none in defined)
Interestingly on the other VIOS also same thing happened with the same LUN.
what could be the issue?

How many paths are registered on the CLARiiON - look in Connectivity Status and count the registered paths. Are you exceeding the initiator limit on the array?

It was an issue with ODM as it created LUNZ devices for the same CLARiiON Luns for some reason. These entires were removed and ran cfgmgr & powermt config resolved the issue.
