Search on Powerlink for FAST (Fully Automated Storage Tiering). There are some whitepapers on it there. It will first come to the Symmetrix platform and the CLARiiONs later.
The Storage Anarchist had a pretty good post on it from earlier this year:

If you have a Powerlink account you can do a search for:
"FAST Theory and Best Practices for Planning and Performance"
"Implementing Fully Automated Storage Tiering (FAST) for EMC Symmetrix V-Max Series Array"
The second one is not CX specific, but it should give you a pretty good overview of the FAST device moment and the FAST controller.
