CLARiiON CX3-20/Recommended FLARE OS version
Hello,
We have got CX3-20 with total 15 300GB FC Disks attached to Windows 2003 Failover Files Server Cluster.(7+1hot spare) disks).We added 7 more 300GB Disks and going to use for Exchange 2007 SP1 Maibox cluster(SCC) on Windows 2008 64bit Entr failover cluster.
The current version of FLARE OS is 03.22.020.5.505 and we didnot face any issues with current version and Windows 2003 Fileserver cluster.Is it necessary to upgrade FLARE OS version before we proceed Windows 2008 64 bit cluster Mailbox.What is the recommended version?.Is there any impact on the existing File Server DATA if we do the FLARE upgrade.I would appreciate your valuable advice and suggestions. i would go to the latest version of flare for your system before you go to Windows 2008 clustering. Windows 2008 requires persistent volume reservation that's is included in the flare of CX, having the latest flare will guarantee that. Before you upgrade the flare you have to make sure all hosts are running supported version of PowerPath, hba drivers ..etc. Use E-Lab navigator/emcgrabs for that. Latest flare release for your array is 03.26.020.5.031
