CX3-80, Brocade, QLogix and Emulex
Hi all,
A CX3-80 is connected to HS21 Blades through 2 integrated brocade
switches; I would like to add a new Ibm P570 in the system. When
I set the zoning and activate Connectivity Status I do not see the new
machine except if I remove the blades in the configuration.
Does that mean that Blades (with Qlogic Hba) and P570 (with Emulex
Hba) cannot function together ? Did anyone faced the same problem ?
What could be the cause/solution.
Thanks in advance.

How do you connect the new server to the intergated blade switch? Do you see it logged in on the switch? Can an intergrated switch have external connections from another server?
What does the blade manufacture say about this?

It worked, seems the solution was to refresh the array.

Answer is YES
2) And this is where you zone the blade servers to the clariion?
Answer is YES (as an external switch)
3)How do you connect the new server to the integrated blade switch?
Answer is the integrated swith has 6 external connexions (ports).
4) What does the blade manufacture say about this?
I don't understand the question.
Anyway, the integrated switch has the same function as an external one,
the only difference is that Blade servers are connected to it through internal
connexions and the rest (CX, external servers) are connected via external ports.

I don't understand the question.
In other words you have a host-to-switch-to-switch-to-array connection. So how are you managing the switch-to-switch connection? Are you zoning on the blade-integrated switch and on the core SAN switch? Are you using ISL?
