CX3 and AIX 4330-09

Hello,

I was wondering if it's possible to connect a AIX server running 4330 to a CX3-10 Clariion via Fibre Channel.
I didn't find any documents on this, but maybe someone has done it.

Any help would be highly appreciated,

Regards,

Ferry

it's not supported by IBM ..so i have serious doubts it's supported by EMC. It might work ..but you can't call anybody for support. Check out E-Lab navigator for supported versions:

Home > Support > Interoperability and Product Lifecycle Information > E-Lab Interoperability Navigator

Anyone ever find an answer to this? we have a new CX4 and are trying to connect 2 AIX 4.3 boxes to it. Unfortunately both AIX boxes are running legacy apps and the OS can't be upgraded. I can get the agent installed but the CX4 is not recognizing the host and won't register the HBAs.

I believe that EMC stopped supporting AIX 4.3 a couple of years ago, now only 5.x.

did you try registering the HBAs manually?

Note also that even if you achieve the connection of your AIX 4.3 hosts, you could never do online NDU with these hosts. You will have to shutdown them.
