CX700 Drve failure issue
Hi all,
I have a question about a issue im having on one of my clariino cx700 boxes.. I had a ATA 320GB drive go bad. Normally I would log navishpere..replace the drive and make sure it come up ok.
In this case, I have tried replacing the drive 3 times and all 3 times the drive is coming up with an amber light, and in Navisphere it is showing as removed.. Does anyone have any ideas what could be causing this in this one particular drive slot?
Thanks!

You may try by taking a disk from another hot spare which is not is use - and put the disk on the faulted slot to check whether it is a slot issue or not.

navicli -h SPx_IP_Address getdisk B_E_D -state
B = bus number
E = Enclosure number
D = disk number
for disk 0 in enclosure 1 on bus 2, the command is:
navicli -h SPx_IP_Address getdisk 2_1_0 -state
This should return the state of the disk from both SPA and SPB - if it shows removed on both SP's try powering off the DAE.
If it shows removed on just one SP, again, try powering off the DAE. If that doesn't work, reboot the SP that shows the Disk as removed.
