First of all welcome to the Support Forum. Hope you'll have a wonderful time here with all of us.
Coming to your question - Yes - you definitely can use 300 GB FC Drives on CX700. This is supported with any recent Flare version. The minimum Flare code version required to support 300 GB drives on CX700 is 02.07.700.5.005 (Release 14) which is quite old. So no need to worry about the flare code version.
Also see the "CX3 Series and CX Series Disk and FLARE OE Matrix" document on Powerlink (search by title). It lists the minimum Flare revision, by platform, which supports each drive.
