Flare 29 new functionality
Looking over flare 29 release notes it mentions:
Additional LUN and initiator support
This version of FLARE supports increased numbers of LUNs, host initiators, and LUNs per storage group compared to FLARE version 04.28.000 5.706.
i could not find the new limits in release notes, I've looked in flare 29 Navi Manager Help cd, could not find it there either. Does anybody know ?

With R28, the max is 256, across all of the CX4-series arrays.
With R29, the max are as follows;
CX4-120 - 512
CX4-240 - 512
CX4-480 - 1024
CX4-960 - 1024
We will check documentation with regards to making this info clear.

Follow this trail:
Home > Support > Technical Documentation and Advisories > Hardware/Platforms Documentation > CLARiiON CX4 Series Systems > CLARiiON CX4-960 > General Reference
Hit the customized planning doc at the bottom and run through the next website. In the guide it makes at the very end of the TOC there are tables, one being thin pool and thin lun limits. Those went up but don't see one for regular luns.
I am going to check internal docs to see if that has anything.

i am interested in the "increased" number of LUNs per Storage group, any info on that ?

Luns Per Array:
Old:
cx4-120 and cx4-240: 1024 luns
cx4-480 and cx4-960: 4096
New:
CX4-120: 1024
CX4-240: 2048
CX4-480: 4096
CX4-960: 8192
Luns per raid group is still 256.

Is that true? How it works and how can CX prevent Data Loss if the other SP fails....
