How to tell if a drive is NEW?
Ive been looking at drives on ebay since my CX array is rather old and not currently under support.
There are a lot of drives listed as new.
Is there an hour-meter or some other way to tell if a drive is actually new or used?

Date of manufacturing sticker will be the only way to check that however it does not indicate whether the drive was used before or not. (may be an old drive but was never used). There is no way from to check this from the array.

Also, you should check the latest Flare to Disk matrix to ensure that any disks you purchase will work in your array.
