MirrorView/S Distance
Hello,
there is often the discussion about the max. distance with MV/S.
The opinions flactuate between 150m and 500m.
Because I can´t find a whitepaper or seomthing similar where the definit values are written down.
Can you please give me some vales from your onsite experience.

Generally accepted is 100km, but out of experience I can tell you that I had it up and running over 370km ! It was however SRDF/S instead of MV/S, but that's similar. So I don't know where you get your 500m from, but it seems to me as that's multimode and not single mode fiber. Using single mode over dark fiber or with FCIP you should only pay attention to the latency. In this 370km I just mentioned our max latency was 6ms and the link stayed up and running for months, maybe even years at a time. The only problems we had occurred when maintenance was done on the lines.

I think that when you want to go over 100km you need an RPQ from EMC (an agreement from them so they will support your config).
