Naviseccli Management Server is not Running
Hi
I am trying to execute some naviseccli commands and I keep getting this error
c:\Windows\system32\naviseccli -h 198.135.3.179 getdisk
A network error occurred white trying to connect: '127.0.0.1'.
Message: Error occurred because connection refused. Management Server is not running
Any ideas what is causing this
is this in Client Device or on the VNX
regards

Hi ,
Installing Navisphere Management Server on the Management Station resolves the issue.
Please refer primus article ” emc228354 “ for more information.

is the IP address 198.135.3.179 the IP address for the array? If so, can you access the array using Navisphere/Unisphere? What array model and flare code level are you running?
Also, there seems to be a problem with the IP address - when you are trying to access 198.135.3.179, you get the error that 127.0.0.1 is not available. Usually 127.0.0.1 is used for the Off-Array Management Server.

Thus, emc228354, innit?!
127.0.0.1 is an reserved IPv4 address. 127.0.0.1 is a special purpose address conventionally used as a computer's loopback address.

Hi
I am not sure what you mean
I have NaviCLI-Win-32-x86-en-S-7.31.30.0.90-1 Intalled on the Windows 7 clientI downlaoded the
Navisphere CLI (Windows - all supported 32 & 64-bit versions) 7.31.32.0.42
and tried to install it..
which one do I put on the Client.
Do i need to run NaviCLI-Win-32-x86-en-S-7.31.30.0.90-1 or Navisphere CLI (Windows - all supported 32 & 64-bit versions) 7.31.32.0.42
.What is the differnce bettween them

Both versions should be supported by the array that you are attempting to send the command to. 07.31.30.0.90 was release with flare version 31.000.5.709 and CLI version 07.31.32.0.42 was release with flare version 31.000.5.716.
The problem seems to be the IP address that you are sending the command to. IP address 198.135.3.179 should be the IP address for one of the SP's of the array. Is this the case? What flare version is the array running? Is this a File-Only configuration? Is the IP address for the NAS part?

Can you try to ping your SP's IP address? Can you access its Navisphere/Unisphere GUI?

This issue is not related to naviseccli Commands....and its relevant to
script server credentials authentication.
