Oracle Migration Question
Hi All
We are planning to migrate Oracel Db form old IBM Storage to Cx4-480 is it ok to use EMC Open Migrator to migrate the Data. What open migrator does is it copies byte by byte from one LUN to other and then changes the drive letter. Is it ok to do the migration like this .I know this is not the right place to ask this question .But please help me out
Thanks in Advance
The Os is windows 2003

Hi,
I have moved this discussion to the Clariion forum where they should be better able to assist you with this.

what is the IBM array model ? If it's supported by PowerPath you could use PPME, much more robust than Open Migrator.

in windows 2003 you be considering the missallignment before starting the migration.
if you want to use Open Migrator you be considering that you can not migrate Volume Systems.
On the other side in an oracle environment is important to consider the iops required and the use of the redo logs.
