Version of MPIO for the Powerpath 5.3
Hi We have Mixed of Windows 2003 and 2008 and Solaris servers. We would like to know if we can upgrade all windows 2003 server's powerpath from 5.2 to 5.3 6Bit and understand what should be the supported MPIO version.
Do we need to upgrade or downgrade the MPIO Drivers to be compatibel with the 5.3 Versioned Powerpath.

I believe that when you install PowerPath that it will check the version of MPIO installed and if necessary will install what it requires. Have you checked the release notes for the different versions of PowerPath

On Windows 2003 the version of MPIO shipped with PowerPath is as follows
PowerPath 5.2 - MPIO 1.21
PowerPath 5.2 SP1 - MPIO 1.22
PowerPath 5.3 - MPIO 1.23
PowerPath 5.3 SP1 - MPIO 1.23
Please note ETA Knowledgebase Article emc207833 re memory leaks in MPIO 1.21 and 1.23 on Windows 2003
On Windows 2008 the version of MPIO is controlled by the Service Pack / hotfixes from Microsoft and is not updated by PowerPath
You do not have to downgrade MPIO drivers once you have upgraded to PowerPath 5.3 or 5.3 SP1
