A dedicated adapter for CX500 is required to access the equipment.

Power supply seems to be not for CX500..(Do not use for DPE CX500, there is dedicated power supply for CX500.)

On the CX500 when you first connect using the serial port, you set the baud rate to 9600 - this should show the boot operation. Once boot is finished, then you need to set the baud rate to 115200 so that you can use Navisphere. Then you need to use a Web browser to access Navisphere - with the CX500, you need to use IE with Java 6 update 30 only. You need to uninstall all java and only install 6.30.

First, do you have the small cable that connects to the back of the SP that the null modem is connected to?

CX500 <-> CX500 cable <-> null modem <-> PC Serial Port (in your case usb)

I've never tried the serial to USB cable before, but it should work. As long as you can set the baud rate, parity for the connection it should work.

Please see the following thread:

https://community.emc.com/docs/DOC-8449

Use the section:

Setting Up the Dial-Up PPP Support:

Once you have setup the connection, the open IE and in the address bar pye in the address 192.168.1.1. This should start Navisphere.

What desktop OS do you use?

I guess you use Windows 10.

I suggest installing Windows 7 in a virtual machine and connecting.
