Can the gateway series front-end a Hitachi AMS1000?
I know the NetApp gateways are certified for several SANs including EMC, HDS, 3PAR etc is this also the case for the celerra?
We have one DMX and one AMS1000 and we want to pick a NAS device that can work with both i.e. the NAS on the DMX will be used for tier1 and the other for tier2. We want it to be the same for ease of management as well data migrations between tier1 and tier 2 etc.

I have a DMX3 4500 and my EMC account team told me that I can not get SATA drives for the DMX3 because it has a different hardware architecture. From various postings it appears that a DMX3 running at least 5772 code can support larger SATA drives. Is this true?

The largest LC-FC drive that we have been able to get is 500 GB. It
would be very useful to get larger drives for the DMX3 but no larger
drives are available. We purchased the DMX3 a few weeks before the DMX4
was announced and have been stuck with limited drive types since.

I think you would get better answers for this one in the Symmetrix forum
