EMC NS20 Shutdown Problem

I have a NS20 integrated device, connected to a Windows 2003 PC, Hyper Terminal Program with null modem cable.

I have given the shutdown command with /nasmcd/sbin/nas_halt now

However it's not shutting down completely. Please see the console output below and kindly advice.

/nasmcd/sbin/nas_halt now

Exactly. Your major concern must be to gracefuly shutdown the Data Movers. Once they are halted, you can safely shutdown the control station, and power off the system.

Hi,

on the first attempt, it seems it powered off the Data Movers corrrectly, but the control station rebooted instead just halt.

This explains the error messages you have seeing on the second attempt.

If you wanto to investigate the reason for this, please open a support case.

Right. From release notes :

Impact Level : Severity 3

Symptom Desc : The nas_halt command powered off the Data Movers as expected but caused the Control Station to reboot instead of shutting down.

Fix : now powers off the Control Station like the Data Movers.

Fixed in version : 5.6.47.4

There are fixes in 5.6.47.x and later for nas_halt issues.

Thank You. Our version is 5.6.46-4

So for the time being I need to just shutdown the control station again right?
