you can't unless you reboot the datamover. Where are you at with configuring NDMP, are you following document "Configuring NDMP Backups on Celerra 5.6" ?

are you pointing your backup application to an interface on the datamover ? Make sure you are not point it to the control station ip address.

I am actually pointing to the server_2 IP not the control station. Do you know if Celerra NDMP license for Netbackup is different from the one used for NetApp NDMP. I know NDMP is NDMP but not sure if Netbackup requires to use a different license for Celerra.

it's the same ndmp license. So did you configure ndmp user (with md5 parameter) on the datamover ?

Thank you for getting back to me. Here is my configuration looks like as you see access is good drive is configured and I wanted to just create storage unit then the policy will follow but when I click ok after filling information it tells me "select a valid NDMP host which is there:
Connecting to host "server_2" as user "ndmp"...
Waiting for connect notification message...
Opening session--attempting with NDMP protocol version 4...
Opening session--successful with NDMP protocol version 4
host supports TEXT authentication
host supports MD5 authentication
Getting MD5 challenge from host...
Logging in using MD5 method...
Host info is:
host name "server_2"
os type "DartOS"
os version "EMC Celerra File Server.T.5.6.45.5"
host id "abc1997"
Login was successful
Host supports LOCAL backup/restore
Host supports 3-way backup/restore
==================
Drive Name IBM.ULT3580-TD3-NDMP
Index 31
NonRewindDrivePath c32t0l0
NDMP client server_2
Type hcart3
Status UP
SCSI Protection SR (Global)
Shared Access No
TLD(0) Definition DRIVE=30
Serial Number 0007839279
Currently defined robotics are:
TLD(0) robotic path = /dev/ovpass0
========================================
have you ran into something like this?

yes it does. All access and configuration of the device looks good.
/usr/openv/volmgr/bin# tpautoconf -verify server_2
Connecting to host "server_2" as user "ndmp"...

Opening session--attempting with NDMP protocol version 4...
Opening session--successful with NDMP protocol version 4

The only thing I think of is that this is just an old license before Symantech bought Netbackup

do you mean on the Netbackup window when creating storage unit where I specify the:
Storage unit name: server_2_NDMP
NDMP host "which comes populated I have no option here to put the IP"
media server (threre option to select"
OR there something I can specify IP on the celerra itsef?
Thanks
