NS80 Interface options

I see that the NS480 can be configured with 10GB Ethernet X-Blades but I can't find a document that describes if a NS80 X-Blade can be ordered with 10GB Ethernet.

Can someone give a yes or no or provide the options for an X-Blade for a NS80?

Thanks.

The X-Blade 65 has a single 10GbE optical interface where the X-Blade 60 does not. NS80 supports the X-Blade 65.

Check the spec sheet on NS80 which is available on emc.com.

NS480 supports the 10 Gigabit Ethernet Optical ports. Each X-blade in a NS480 can have either of these configuration for Network ports -

1) Four 10/100/1000 BaseT Ports (Copper GigE)

2) Two Optical GigE ports and two 10/100/1000 BaseT Ports (Copper GigE)

3) Two 10 Gigabit Ethernet Optical Ports and two 10/100/1000 BaseT Ports (Copper GigE)

You may refer to the NS-480 sepcification sheet per the following link (the link Bill mentioned is for NS80 not NS480)

http://www.emc.com/collateral/hardware/specification-sheet/h5807-celerra-ns-480-ss.pdf

And the data sheet at - http://www.emc.com/collateral/hardware/data-sheet/c1118-celerra-unified-storage-ds.pdf

Hope this helps,

Thanks,
Sandip

you need to check with your local EMC team

from what I remember all blades in the NS80 need to be the same type so you would have to replace the existing ones as well

might be possible to get an expection via RPQ if you can make sure that standby is only configured between the same blade types
