Hi Rainier I didn't try that yet.....
Not sure if my question was clear either !!!
What I'm asking is "does NX4 support CIFS and NFS on the same share" if yes how can i do this ?
again many thanks for your help on this

Hi,
yes it does - if you have both protocols licensed you just create a CIFS share and a NFS share that point to the same directory.
However for most uses cases it makes sense to first review the access policy options and the user mapping
Otherwise you get the default usermapper mapping (which isnt a "real" mapping) and NFS users that arent root dont have access with the default umask
I would suggest to at least read the concepts sections of the CIFS multiprotocol and Usermapping manuals that are available from Powerlink

Hi Olivier,
you're welcome.
IMHO - in order to implement a good multi-protocol setup you should know both the basics of Windows and Unix user management and security and the capabilities of the Celerra.
I would suggest to at least read the concepts section of the following manuals (available from Powerlink - also part of the Celerra doc CD):
Configuring and Managing CIFS on Celerra
Managing Celerra for a Multiprotocol Environment
Configuring EMC Celerra User Mapping
Configuring Virtual Data Movers for EMC Celerra
then you decide what usermapping method you want
then you decide which access policy you want if you need any modifying params
then just create the CIFS and NFS shares and test it
Rainer
P.S.: there is also a eLearning (online) training from EMC Education called “Celerra Multi-Protocol File Sharing Concepts”

You're Welcome
for the benefit of others - could you describe how you found it and and if it costs training credits?
