Network migration of Celerra NX4

Hi,

We are in process of migrating the whole network to a new network. To migrate celerra network(CIFS running), what all changes we need to do...

-change celerra ip

-change backed Clariion SPa and SPb ip.

-changing CIFS server ip

-anything else needed ?

A proper plan of action will be much appreciated..

Thanks !!!!

  1. Follow these steps to change the Control Station IP address:
    1. Connect the Control Station management port using a cross cable with a host (preferably windows system) and then set the IP address of the host in the same subnet as the Control Station old IP address. (Make a note of the IP address before moving.)
    2. Now you should be able to connect the Control Station GUI/CLI using the Old IP address, In this case Connect the Control station using CLI and log in as "root" user. (Putty can be used to connect to CLI using SSH.)
    3. Once Logged in as "root", type the command as netconfig from the console, and follow the steps to change the IP address, netmask, gateway and nameserver of the Control Station.
    4. You may have to reboot the Control Station in some cases.
    5. Assuming you have proxy_arp enabled, follow the article "how to change control station ipaddres when proxy_arp is enabled emc248710 "
  2. Now you should be able to connect the GUI/CLI using the new IP address configured.
  3. Modify the network interfaces of the Data Mover(s), by following the document "Configuring and Managing Celerra Networking" available from Powerlink.
  4. once the new interfaces/routes/dns/ntp are configured, assgin the interfaces to cifs servers then remove the old interfaces.
  5. you should be done at this point.
  6. if you have replication session configured on celerra "emc232994".
