cifs server unable to join domain

Hi all , I got a physical data mover server_2. I have created a VDM on it and one cifs server on it. All working fine.

now i got requirment to create another cifs server on physical data mover , is it possible ??

I tried it with new ip but it was giving me error , unable to join -check server logs.

Any idea ?? I thought i will create computer account with name in AD first and then try joining but it failed.

Yes, you can either create a 2nd CIFS server in your existing VDM or create a new VDM with a CIFS server depending on whether you need to access the same file systems or whether you need to isolate the data

Dear I had the same problem

but now i have resolve it.

You can also try I did.

open Active Directory or your DC ->go to Computer->RightClick on Computers->New Computer->give the name of your EMC-Celerra.

after above process go again on Unisphere and create your CIFS Server type your domain name and join it with your credentials and organizational unit type Computers:EMC-Celerra. then apply ok .

I hope it will show domain joined.
