lacp config

I'm doing some troubleshooting with our network group enabling/disabling lacp on my trk configs.

I built a ethc trunk on cge0 and cge1, run the command to enable lacp but I'm trying to reconfigure the trk back to ethc without deleting the trk and recreating it. but the same command to enable lacp using ethc as the option instead doesn't work.

to change to lacp (default lb is ip)

server_sysconfig server_2 -pci trk1 -o protocol=lacp

and if I use this:

server_sysconfig server_2 -pci trk1 -o protocol=ethc

it doesn't change to ethc. Is it possible to disable lacp once it's enabled?

Hi Jim,

A lot of things are possible in software but not all are implemented

It would make for some interesting cases where the capabilities are different

like Etherchannel can handle links with different speeds but LACP cannot

Or LACP can do 1..12 links but EtherChannel only 2|4|8

I think you have to delete and create again

Otherwise it would be difficult since lcap and etherchannel have different config rules – for example number of interfaces

Ranier, usually the config rules are defined on the switch side so I was hopeful. Oh well, I'll have to plan on deleting and recreating if need be, then.

thanks.

Rainer, purely a lack of detail on my part on mispelling your name, not that I was confusing you for being French -

thanks for the differentiation between etherchannel and lacp.
