migrate data from NFS on solaris host to NFS and CIFS on celerra include the ACL security configuration
Dear all
we have in our data center
1- EMC celerra ns-120 with emc clariion cx4-120
2- some of windows servers 2003
3- sun servers run Solaris 10
the current configuration
we have one solaris server has luns from cx4-120 and from these luns we creat files systems and we shred these file system by NFS
then we installed SAMBA to let windows servers read and write on these files systems
and we configured the ACL on solaris to give the security to all users which access these data
now this sun server has issues and we need to export new shard file systems (( NFS - CIFS )) from the celerra
and we need to take the old data to the new exported file systems
but we need to keep the security configurations
is thers any tools or any way to help us in this case
and waht about EMcopy
please i need advice

EMCOPY is similar to ROBOCOPY, and is used to migate Windows files with their permissions intact. However, EMCOPY (and ROBOCOPY) do not copy UNIX-style permissions. So, if you have any filesystems exported as NFS, you'll want to use rsync to copy those files from the NFS shares on the SUN server to NFS shares on the Celerra.
If you have filesystems that are exported via BOTH NFS and CIFS, you'll need to use rsync to copy the files and UNIX permissions and use EMCOPY to copy the Windows ACLs (not the file data).
Take a look on the forums - you'll find many examples and recommendations for the migration.
